No-exam life insurance
Which applicants get instant approval without a medical exam, how it really works, and your options if you don't qualify.
Many carriers now provide accelerated underwriting: for certain age groups and coverage amounts, they can decide using your application, pharmacy records, driving history, and other data rather than scheduling a physical examination. Some decisions arrive within hours. Each rate here shows whether an exam is required, might be required, or can be waived for that specific product.
What it changes
Skipping the exam is not the same as skipping underwriting. Your responses are verified, and a policy issued based on false information can be challenged for two years. If the carrier's own records raise concerns, they may still ask for testing or labs—you'll know before committing.
Who tends to qualify
In general, people under age 60 who need coverage below the carrier's accelerated limit, with no significant health conditions and no tobacco use for at least a year. Many carriers also accept recent lab results from a doctor's visit instead of requiring a fresh exam.
When an exam is needed, the appointee typically comes to your home or workplace in the Brea area for a 20- to 30-minute visit—at no cost to you. For many healthy applicants, the exam results move you to a better rate class, so undergoing the exam can actually help.
